About the Work

My style is very eclectic, experiential and intuitive, with strong influences from Carl Rogers, Erik Erikson, and Victor Frankl. Also, having lived through immune system dysfunction and healed completely, I am an excellent guide to help you get through it. I know and understand the dynamics that result in this level of distress. My work with Dr. Luc DeSchepper, Robert Fritz, Eric Maisel, and Donna Eden also contribute greatly to the framework of my orientation – namely, that (as with the homeopathic and energy medicine ideology) trauma causes disruptions in our energy, and it’s not possible to heal or be whole and healthy until these are brought into balance. Though we may understand our issues emotionally and intellectually, pain and imbalance may be stored in the body (energetically and/or physically); also, tension seeks resolution, and the choices we make (whether consciously or not) deeply impact our reality and worldview; and that we MATTER. Our dreams and creativity are an aspect of Soul – passion in alignment with higher awareness is felt in the heart and is the key to finding meaning in life. Non-denominational and GLBT friendly, I see all people as sacred, spiritual beings of beauty and light.

I consider my phone work to be in the realm of holistic wellness as a Life Coach. Clients who have clinical issues that require deep work in the psychotherapy context are not appropriate for phone sessions. Any issues related to clinical diagnoses (i.e., mood disorders, major depression, substance abuse, and the like) should be worked on with a local mental health provider. While I have been and continue to work with issues related to psychotherapy-type needs for local clients, it is in the context of bringing balance and healing rather than treating a “disease or disorder”.

In addition to being a licensed counselor, my expertise is drawn from a mix of complementary~alternative~integrative approaches, and the spiritual and metaphysical. My training and knowledge is holistic and multi level. My intuitive and empathic skills have been present from earliest memories in the early 60's, and I’m conscious of working directly with the intuitive and spiritual realms since I was a teenager (over 30 years ago, since the '70's). Also, I’ve been working on the holistic approach to living since 1981, and professionally with the healing arts and Reiki, since 1987.
