REIKI History | Historical Perspective
Having practiced Reiki since 1987, I can say it has been a powerful tool for healing and balancing. And especially since receiving the 3rd Chakra Master attunements, I can honestly say that Reiki has made an enormous shift in me, toward higher awareness. I continue to see positive growth and healing with my clients using Reiki as a foundation. Reiki has a diverse background, and these links provide enough information to reveal a bit of the history, and general explanation. To truly feel Reiki, go to a well-established and respected practitioner! Reiki is life-force, prana, chi, Qi – we all have access to this healing energy.
Reiki.nu Site - Reiki - You Can Do it!™
"This site is trying to impart information about Reiki and the healing abilities of this easy to learn system." A lot of good resources here. Some of the Chakra info is different from what I see, but overall, it's definitely worth checking out.
Mesothelioma.com (Reiki Alternative Treatments) Site
Visit the site for Mesothelioma.com - to learn more about how mesothelioma patients are using Reiki as a form of palliative relief during cancer treatment.

Donna Eden is a beautiful force of Love and Joy, and a wonderful teacher and healer! Integrating nine energy systems, starting with her work in the Touch For Health program – she's developed exercises and methodologies that are comprehensive, and include a wide range of modalities to increase energy and health on all levels. I'm grateful for the work of Innersource, and all the wonderful teachers in the CP. I bought the book Energy Medicine when it came out in the late 90's, and as a graduate of the 2-year Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program, I feel honored to have had access to more healing techniques and talented healers, than I could ever have dreamed possible. What a blessing! Her book Energy Medicine for Women and a revised and updated "10th Anniversary Edition" Energy Medicine, became available in August '08. Co-authoring the book, The Promise of Energy Psychology with Gary Craig, Donna and her husband psychologist and Energy Psychology specialist, David Feinstein's books earned three national awards in 2007, including two Book of the Year Awards in their respective categories from prestigious sources (including U.S. Book News). Their websites are full of great information/handouts, research articles, EM practitioner directory links, and upcoming classes and workshops! It was awesome to have been included as a TA in the 5-day workshop on Hilton Head Island, SC, March 5-10 2009, and I loved being included to TA and take the Instructor training in the Energy Medicine for Women in Los Angeles, CA, July 2009.

Past Life Therapy (Brian Weiss, M.D.) Site
I love it when skeptical scientists, those from the medical community have metaphysical, mystical experiences, and document it! As with Dr.'s Kubler-Ross, Candace Pert, Judith Orloff, Norm Shealy, Joyce Whiteley Hawkes and many others, Dr. Weiss' writings offer validation to the skeptical re: my own experiences (as do a plethora of authors I've read over the years from Edgar Cayce and Jane Roberts to Sanaya Roman/Duane Packer, Pat Rodegast, Caroline Myss, Gary Zukav, Linda Kohanov, Mary Summer Rain, Meredith Lady Young and many more). I discovered the work of Dr. Weiss having just moved to Southern California and being hired as night manager of the health food store, called Follow Your Heart. On every break I would read Messages From the Masters, his groundbreaking book – "he was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her therapy issues, and started to share messages about the space between lives." Read his books for validation, and to begin or continue to explore your own journey of remembering, healing, and discovery.
I am deeply grateful to have trained with Brian and Carole Weiss at the Omega Institute, August 2008 for Past Life Regression Therapy – of course this is about regression and progression! A wonderful Jungian therapeutic tool to allow us to gain insight, bring healing, and help us remember how love teaches us, ties us together, and empowers us to see the fullness of our being.
Flower Essences – FES FAQ - About the FES Bach essences by Julian Barnard
I'm excited about these remedies! Since I started using Bach essences
back in 1987, I've found them to be profound and broad in their
positive effects on core issues – in both myself, my family, and my
clients. I'm so happy that Julian Barnard is bringing back the
"essence" of the original Bach Centre work.
Homeopathy (Dr. Luc DeSchepper) Site, General Articles
Dr. Luc is one of those rare individuals – he is a medical doctor and acupuncturist as well as a master-homeopath, teacher, and author. He's also a specialist on immune system issues, and I was lucky enough to have found him (after 8 years with chronic fatigue/systemic Candida, following advice from every source I could find with minimal or no change). His holistic approach addressed the original stressors and necessary dietary changes, in addition to use of homeopathy and acupuncture. His careful and compassionate approach led me to develop great respect for him, and to heal. Later (when I was the Nutrition Assistant Team Leader at Whole Foods Market in Chicago), I encouraged the store team leader to help bring him in as a guest speaker. He is a gift to the world. Thank-you Dr. Luc!!!
Alexander Technique Site
As a Holistic Psychotherapist I am most grateful to Bruce Fertman who was my Alexander teacher in college, (as the movement teacher for my BFA program, he also taught Aikido, Tai Chi, and more). An impeccable and gentle teacher, he was an amazingly grounding force in those years for me. I learned a great deal about how to feel awareness in the body, and how to move with ease and be congruent in the body. Integrating his teachings helped me to be able to process being an empath and intuitive. He left Rutgers in 1983, after my last year, and started the Alexander Alliance in Philadelphia. Now he has a new school in Santa Fe, NM. Anyone who has a chance to study with Bruce is blessed for life!
Hemi-Sync (The Monroe Institute) Site
The Monroe Institute has developed a new field of scientific research,
which creates balance between the hemispheres of the brain,
synchronizing them, and promotes "focused whole-brain states of
consciousness", which "improves human performance". It is
mind-expanding,“both a powerful relaxation and healing tool" –
Metamusic CD's which use the Hemi-Sync® technology focus on many
differrent needs, from grounding to inner journeying to increasing
optimal focus, to travelling beyond. I've used their CD's in my own
meditation groups and with my energy work clients, and it greatly
enhances and deepens the experience. Also, if the work of Edgar Cayce,
Brian Weiss or Carlos Casteneda interests you, read Robert Monroe's
three books. They're a fascinating re-telling of his experiences
starting with his sound experiments that triggered traveling out of
body beyond the physical realms – if want to know what lies beyond,
start reading right away! Another way to experience Monroe's research
is to attend one of their workshops at The Monroe Institute in VA – my
husband and I attended the Gateway Voyage program (summer '07) and I am
still processing my wonderful time, and mind-expanding experiences
there (yes, I even travelled OOB)! Click on the Education link to
listen to Metamusic samples!
The Aware Show Site

Daily OM Site
You can sign up for the newsletter or just peruse the archives! An
excellent source for inspiration and insight on a variety of topics,
it's non-denominational, with a Spiritual, holistic focus. I've often
found it sends me exactly the information I needed, just when I needed
it! Daily Om is also a great resource for learning about holistic
products, artists and modalities.
David Newman Music Site
David Newman came to Savannah to do Kirtan and my husband and I had a wonderful time singing, and meeting David and Mira! David is a talent and a joy – his music is from the heart – a synthesis of traditional Kirtan mixed with beautiful melodies and contemporary lyrics. Check out his site (he may be coming to a location near you!), listen to samples, etc. David even graciously let us use his music for a beautiful short film my husband shot of our 2006 Savannah Yoga for Peace event. Small world, when I was looking into getting certified in Alexander Technique with Bruce Fertman, I found out that Bruce knew David from his Yoga work in Philadelphia (at that time, I was not able to sign on, and eventually decided to go with the Donna Eden Certification Program, however it was great to talk with Bruce and hear how his wonderful work continues to develop!).
Yoga Journal Site
A fave, as with their magazine, this website has a plethora of great information and resources!!!
SATYA & Global Mala Yoga for Peace Event SATYA | Global Mala
The first Yoga association in Savannah, the Savannah Area Teachers of Yoga Association (SATYA) has the mission of creating greater awareness and understanding of the yoga practice and the health benefits it brings...I am grateful to have been a sponsor (and participated for the 3rd year) in the 2008 Savannah Yoga for Peace event – this past year we partnered with the Global Mala Project: Uniting Yoga, Seva and Collective Consciousness. SATYA provided donations to Savannah's own Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter, as well as the Off the Mat, Into the World's 2008 Seva Challenge.
Off the Mat, Into the World Seva Challenge
Off the Mat, Into the World is a 501(c)(3) project of The Engage Network... this USA charity focused on the Cambodian Children's Fund (CCF) in 2008. When I won a trip to San Francisco for the '08 January Yoga Journal Conference and got to take yoga and other classes with Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, Ana Forrest, Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa, Joel Kramer, Thomas Fortel, and others, and then saw Seane Corn speak about this Seva Challenge, (before Michael Franti's benefit concert) I was deeply moved to help. I felt impelled to contribute my services, and in the end I hope, make our world a better and more peaceful place for all. If you can contribute to OTM for their continuing work, or the CCF, you help some of the poorest and most underprivileged children in the world. Be an activist for social change!

How can we as individuals be in balance if we don't remember that we are part of the Earth, and it is part of us? To quote Chief Seattle, “all things are connected". Take a moment and imagine a world in harmony on all levels, and know that it matters when you do something to support nature and our healthy planet. There are so many good groups doing advocacy, protection and support of keeping our Earth and our communities healthy, too many to list all of them – anyway, here are some of my faves...
